Real-Time Transcribing System “SRS Report”

SRS Report gives an opportunity to create real-time transcripts of trials, conferences, meetings, negotiations, speeches, interviews, lectures by a group of transcriptionists working simultaneously with different fragments of audio record.

SRS Report allows getting the transcript of the event in real time. The complete transcript of an event can be obtained in few minutes after the event is finished.

A small team of 3-4 transcriptionists is able to perform the real-time transcribing of an event of any duration. The transcriptionists use the digital transcriber and the standard text editor with spelling and grammar checking. The digital transcriber has foot pedal control and function of speed speech variation without pitch affecting.

The transcriptionists type their audio fragments non-stop and simultaneously. The transcribed speech fragments are saved on the sound server and automatically combined into one text.

Functional Overview

Sound is recorded and stored on an audio recording server. The recorded speech is automatically divided into fragments and distributed between transcriptionists. Each transcriptionist works on one audio fragment. All fragments of audio and text are gathered into one document with timestamps giving an opportunity to check the quality of transcription and make necessary editing.
The text and recorded speech are available for checking and editing at supervisor’s workstation. The whole workflow is automatically controlled by the system and managed from administrator’s or supervisor’s workstation.

Scalability

The audio recording server records simultaneously up to 64 independent channels. If the number of recording channels is to be increased, it is necessary to use an additional audio recording server. Up to 90 transcriptionists can be connected to one server and work simultaneously. The server and typists’ workstations are connected via TCP/IP LAN (WAN). The Complete statistics of transcriptionists work is saved on the server.

Information Protection

Transcriptionists hear only small speech fragments and don’t have access to the whole audio information.

More accurate transcribing in comparison with traditional methods which are usually used for real-time reporting (shorthand machine or “stenomask”).
